SAN FRANCISCO—BuildingIQ announced the release of version 4.0 of its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution to optimize energy use in commercial buildings. The latest version builds upon the company’s award-winning Predictive Energy Optimization software and offers streamlined analytics, increased visibility into savings and improved managed services—all protected by the security equivalent to that of Internet banking. BuildingIQ saves users 10 to 25 percent in HVAC energy costs with increased scores in LEED, Energy Star, NABERS and other sustainability measures.

BuildingIQ’s version 4.0 features a new intuitive interface and offers real-time transparency into energy operations. Using variables such as weather forecasts, utility signals, building characteristics and occupant comfort, BuildingIQ makes real-time changes to building controls based on a customized thermal model. The platform now displays predictive and retrospective data and allows users to easily view adjustments that were made to the operating system. Results can be accessed in a consolidated, standardized view regardless of which legacy systems are in a building.

BuildingIQ has also enhanced its managed services offering to provide more support to building owners than ever before. Customers are provided around-the-clock access to BuildingIQ’s highly trained building engineering experts, who continuously observe and trend building performance to determine if other opportunities to save energy are available. Additionally, they can identify energy drains for a structure.

“From boiler room to boardroom we want to make the implementation of our Predictive Energy Optimization software as straightforward and integrated as possible,” said Michael Nark, President & CEO of BuildingIQ. “BuildingIQ’s new enhancements provide more support and increased visibility into a building’s operations and energy usage. We also eliminate the risk when choosing our solution by offering it on a subscription basis and guarantee the delivery of energy savings without upfront capital required. Users are essentially signing up for free cash flow.”

The cloud-based software embraces the latest security measures. BuildingIQ has incorporated new security features to protect its customers’ building management systems (BMS) and IT systems. The company has also made it easy to automatically update its software to keep up with the latest challenges presented to an ever-changing industry.
