RALEIGH, N.C.—Capping off a year in which they raised more than $100,000, Concord Hospitality Enterprises Company associates—from the bussers to the board room—banded together on June 9 to provide food and shelter to those in need. Since starting Share Day in 2009, Concord Hospitality associates have raised more than $500,000, distributed one million meals, and refurbished dozens of homes.

Those totals rose this year as 4,000 associates at Concord Hospitality properties across North America gave 5,000 hours of service and delivered more than 100,000 meals to needy families on a single day. Share Day 2015 is the culmination of efforts that began a year ago to raise more than $100,000 for charities, primarily through grassroots activities such as bake sales and car washes.

“Our associates want to give back to their local communities, but often lack the resources to do so entirely on their own,” said Debra Punke, Concord Hospitality Senior Vice President of Human Resources. “Together we can create a greater, more meaningful impact in the communities where we live and work.”

“This isn’t just about one day out of the year,” Punke continued. “This is about celebrating a culture of giving, a cornerstone of how our company and 4,000 associates choose to do business.”

All 83 Concord Hospitality hotels participated in this year’s Share Day, volunteering time and other resources in their local communities.
