NEW YORK—Delos is expanding its Stay Well hotel room portfolio into a handful of Marriott International hotels. The company has now completed the installation of Stay Well rooms at six Marriott properties, including Charlotte Marriott City Center, Atlanta Marriott Marquis, Richmond Marriott Short Pump, Residence Inn Orlando Lake Nona, Courtyard Orlando Lake Nona and Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina.
“The growing demand for healthy travel is rapidly increasing, and we have received a tremendous number of requests to open more Stay Well rooms since first debuting the product in Las Vegas,” said Delos Founder and CEO Paul Scialla. “Marriott is one of the most respected and prestigious hotel companies in the world, and we are thrilled to expand the Stay Well experience into their hotels to help meet their guests’ wellness needs. We look forward to a lasting partnership with the company.”
Delos’ Stay Well hotel rooms are the first of their kind to offer evidence-based health and wellness features in hotels to help travelers maintain their health and well-being while on the road.
“The Stay Well experience is changing the way we travel today,” says Dr. Deepak Chopra, Founder of The Chopra Foundation and a Delos Advisory Board member. “By infusing wellness into the built environment, Delos has pioneered a new movement, and Marriott will contribute to the outstanding success of Stay Well by offering individuals healthy travel solutions. As someone who is always on the road, I am thrilled to see these evidence-based wellness technologies introduced in hotels, one of the most important places for health and wellness.”
What Comprises a Stay Well Room
The new Stay Well rooms at Marriott incorporate a myriad of scientifically validated health and wellness technologies, features and services that help optimize guests’ health, vitality, happiness and well-being when traveling. From advanced air purification to dawn simulation, circadian rhythm lighting and a healthy mattress, the wellness features are specifically designed to allow rejuvenating sleep, deliver purified air, provide specially filtered water and protect guests against allergens and germs. Through the Stay Well Mobile App, guests of the new Marriott Stay Well rooms also enjoy exclusive access to an innovative jet lag tool, as well as sleep, nutrition and stress management programs developed by Cleveland Clinic.
“Now more than ever, health and wellness are a top priority in nearly every facet of our lives,” says Jim Connelly, Senior Vice President of Operations and Owner Services at Marriott International. “The new Stay Well rooms make it feasible for business and leisure travelers alike to easily maintain their healthy lifestyles while away.”
Delos launched its first Stay Well rooms at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas in October 2012. Since then, the program has seen tremendous success, and Delos expanded the program to include a Stay Well Meetings program, which integrates features that are intended to provide positive health benefits and lead to increased productivity, collaboration and creativity among attendees.
The Stay Well rooms and suites at Marriott will be available for approximately $30 per night above prevailing rates. For guests who wish to extend their Stay Well experience beyond the hotel room, Delos has launched an online Stay Well Shop, which provides customers with an opportunity to purchase many of the health and wellness products available in the Stay Well rooms.
