LOS ANGELES—Dometic Lodging, a division of Dometic Group, a global provider of leisure products for the lodging, marine, truck, caravan, motor home and automotive markets, announced the products it will be exhibiting at the 2014 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC), to be held June 23 to 26 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The company will show its HiPromatic miniBar with automatic consumption monitoring, its DMS wireless handheld system for recording refreshment center usage, the GrapevinePro wireless door alert system for guestroom fridges, and the i-Calmaire Thermostat with digital sensing technology.

“All of these products use innovative technology to help hotels reduce labor costs and energy consumption, while at the same time increasing traveler comfort and overall efficiency,” said Peter Kuzyk, Senior National Sales Manager, Dometic Lodging. “From our wireless technology that monitors refreshment center consumption, to our advanced wall thermostats with occupancy detectors, Dometic technology enhances the guest experience while improving labor management and cost-efficiency for hotels.”

Products Featured at HITEC:

Dometic HiPromatic. The HiPromatic miniBar is a fully automatic refreshment center with space for bottles and cans plus miniatures. This silent-running fridge offers e-field sensing technology that wirelessly monitors guest minibar consumption, thereby saving staff time and eliminating the need for housekeeping to manually check usage. Since it operates on its own ZigBee wireless network, all that is required is a standard AC outlet. The HiPromatic line offers several models with capacities in 30, 40, and 60 liters.

The Dometic DMS. The Dometic DMS is a wireless, handheld minibar management system that allows hotel attendants to post in-room refreshment usage. Data is transmitted wirelessly to the hotel’s property management system where management can quickly and accurately track refreshment center consumption, and post the information to each guest’s account. If used in conjunction with the Dometic GrapevinePro wireless door alert system, the DMS generates a list of rooms needing to be checked for consumption and replenishment. Attendants visit only these rooms, saving labor and time, increasing productivity and eliminating unnecessary guest disturbances.

Dometic GrapevinePro. The Dometic GrapevinePro wireless mini-bar door alert system records refreshment center openings by room and helps reduce hotel labor costs by up to 30 percent.

Each time a guest opens a refreshment center door, a message is transmitted via wireless mesh network to the GrapevinePro computer. Reports show which rooms should be visited to check for consumption and replenishment. Attendants visit only these rooms to check the minibar inventory, saving labor and time, increasing productivity and eliminating unnecessary guest disturbances. The attendant then resets the unit, transmitting another message to the central computer that the room has been restocked.

Dometic i-Calmaire Thermostat. The i-Calmaire is an advanced wall thermostat that helps hotels save energy costs without compromising guest comfort. The integrated occupancy sensor uses a combination of motion and thermal sensing technologies for accurate occupancy detection. The patented “Night Occupancy” feature ensures guest comfort at night—and won’t turn off heating or air-conditioning in the middle of the night while guests are asleep. Intelligent Occupancy Analysis differentiates between incidental and guest occupancy to eliminate unnecessary energy use. The thermostat features a large touch-screen for easy usage. The i-Calmaire can function alone or as part of a remotely managed energy management system.
