LOS ANGELES— EcoSense, a fast-growing manufacturer of high-performance LED lighting technologies, announced that it was recognized in two prestigious competitions, the RIBA Stirling Prize for the Best New Building of the Year and two 2014 Product Innovation Awards (PIA) from Architectural Products Magazine.

EcoSpec Linear HP EXT Wall Wash luminaires from EcoSense illuminate the exterior of the RIBA award-winning Everyman Theatre in Liverpool, England. The original Everyman Theatre opened in 1964 but recently underwent a complete renovation to create an entirely new and sustainable building. The lighting design team was tasked with ensuring that the soul of the old Everyman Theatre remained intact while utilizing modern and sustainable materials. To achieve this desired result, the team chose the EcoSpec Linear HP EXT Wall Wash luminaries for their flexibility and energy-saving footprint.

Regarding the project, judges for the RIBA Stirling Prize said, “It is truly a groundbreaking public building, achieved through a clever team—client, architect, consultants and contractors—where the new truly celebrates the past.”

Two Awards from Architectural Products

EcoSense also recently received two Product Innovation Awards (PIA) from Architectural Products Magazine, a leading source for trending products. The EcoSpec Linear Dimming Control Module (LDCM) and the Slim Cove INT were both recognized in the Interior Lighting category for their unique design. The LDCM-PL takes a 0-10V dimming signal and a fixed line voltage input and converts it to an ELV dimmed output for flicker-free dimming. The Plenum Rating allows for easier installation, and meets local building codes for a wider array of spaces and project types. Slim Cove INT has a diameter smaller than a nickel.

“Building on the success of last year’s program, our award proves commercial building manufacturers are committed to, and are working arduously toward, delivering more sustainable products, as well as products that deliver better performance, life and affordability,” commented Jim Crockett, Editorial Director of Architectural Products Magazine.

“We are thrilled to be recognized and appreciated by lighting designers, both in the U.S. and abroad,” said Mark Reynoso, CEO of EcoSense. “EcoSense is committed to developing new products that meet the unique demands of lighting designers everywhere.”
