SAN RAMON, CALIF.—According to fishnick, it has launched its Fe3 online sustainability training for foodservice professionals. Fe3 (Foodservice Energy Efficiency Expert) is an online training program designed specifically to educate and certify foodservice professionals in the fundamentals of energy and water efficiency for commercial foodservice.

A few years ago, the fishnick team started the discussion of creating certification training for foodservice professionals that would be delivered on an e Learning platform. Fishnick enlisted a small team to help execute the idea and bring Fe3 to life.

Fe3’s development team consists of: Richard Young (Curriculum Development – Fe3; Dir. of Education – Fishnick), Janel Rupp (Project Manager – Fe3; Education & Outreach Mgr. – Fishnick), Strahan Advertising (Development/Design/Creative), Sean Brennan (LMS Coordinator; IT – GTI) and Greg Sorensen (Website Developer; IT Mgr. – Fishnick).

In order to ensure that Fe3 was ready for its big debut, fishnick invited 40 industry professionals to participate in the pilot.

The Fe3 online training and certification consists of six (1-hr) graphics rich modules covering different areas of foodservice energy and water use (basic energy fundamentals, lighting, refrigeration, water conservation, cooking equipment and CKV). The course is available 24/7 and allows one to learn when and where one wants and at one’s own pace. After successful completion of all six modules one will earn the Fe3 certification and join an elite group of foodservice professionals.
