SANTA CLARA, CALIF.—Green Charge Networks, the largest provider of commercial energy storage in the United States, named Mark Triplett as its Chief Operating Officer. As COO, Triplett will oversee sales, marketing, and operations. He brings more than 20 years of enterprise software, utility, smart grid and demand response experience to Green Charge most recently leading the “Demand Response Management Systems” product line worldwide for Alstom Grid, a global leader in utility infrastructure and control room hardware and software.

“Mark Triplett brings extensive smart grid and utility experience to Green Charge at a time of explosive growth and customer acquisition,” said Vic Shao, CEO at Green Charge Networks. “His strong track record in operational management will be a great addition to our executive team.”

Prior to Alstom Grid, Triplett was president of UISOL Software (acquired by Alstrom Grid) responsible for company strategic planning, sales, marketing, operations, project execution and delivery. Triplett has also held executive positions at SureWest Communications, Vitria Technology and AI Metrix. He holds a Master of Business Administration from San Diego National University and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from The United States Military Academy at West Point.

Green Charge also announced the opening of its satellite office in San Diego. The office located at 2305 Historic Decatur Road houses sales and operations staff to accommodate the growing market for energy storage in San Diego. San Diego is one of the nation’s fastest growing markets for energy storage due in large part to high demand charges for commercial businesses. Energy storage is a critical part of San Diego’s cleantech economy.
