WASHINGTON, D.C.—Green Seal, the nation’s oldest nonprofit environmental certification organization and the original “Green Seal of Approval,” announces the beginning of the Green Seal Blog. The blog is posted on the organization’s website at www.greenseal-blog.com.

According to Brie Welzer, the blog is specifically designed “to share lessons learned and helpful habits developed over Green Seal’s more than 20 years of eco-labeling and environmental work.”

Postings from various Green Seal team members will be added to the blog on an ongoing basis.
Some of the first posts are from Green Seal CEO Arthur Weissman (whose postings are called “CEO Corner”). There is also a post regarding volatile organic compounds written by Green Seal vice president of Certification, Mary Swanson.

“You will also hear from many of our partners who help us achieve our mission, [many of whom are] true game-changers in various industries,” says Welzer.

Two Vice Presidents to Contribute

Other postings planned for the blog will be provided by Linda Chipperfield, vice president of marketing and communications for Green Seal, and Mark Petruzzi, vice president of outreach and strategic relations for the organization and well known for his green advocacy in a variety of industry segments including professional cleaning, laundry, and buildings.

According to Welzer, since its founding in 1989, one of Green Seal’s missions has been to not only identify products and services that meet specific environmental criteria and standards but to educate.

“Our blog provides an excellent educational forum for us to help everyone—sustainability professionals, environmentalists, manufacturers, as well as purchasers and consumers—better understand why environmentally preferable products and services are necessary, beneficial, and effective.”
