Schedule Coming Together for Ecotourism Conference America

TAMPA, FLA.—The schedule for the Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism Conference America is coming together. The event, slated for January 25 to 27, will be held in Tampa, Fla. at the University of South Florida in the Patel Center. The conference is a project of The International Ecotourism Society and will have the following theme: Transforming Our World Through Sustainable Tourism Solutions. More than 200 tourism professionals are expected for the event.

The event’s opening ceremony will be held at Busch Gardens Tampa. Speakers during the conference will include Dr. Kelly Bricker, Professor and Dept. Chair, Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, University of Utah; Sarbuland Khan, Chief liaison Officer for the UNWTO at the United Nations Headquarters in New York; Dr. Anne Savage, Conservation Director for Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts; Dr. David Randle, who directs the Sustainable Tourism concentration for the USF College of Global Sustainability and serves as President and Executive Director of the WHALE Center, and Managing Director of the International Ocean Institute Waves of Change initiative; and Dr. Thomas Henry Culhane, Professor, Mercy College, New York, founder of Solar Cities, and a National Geographic Explorer. A full slate of breakout sessions are also scheduled.
