LONDON—Smith & Fong Co., manufacturer of Plyboo bamboo architectural plywood and textured wall systems, announced it has significantly expanded its presence in the United Kingdom and Europe, with a London office and centralized warehousing in the Midlands for its full line of bamboo and palm plywood and paneling products, according to company president Angus Stocks.

“Smith & Fong views the U.K. and Europe as major architectural and design markets that are central to our growth strategy,” Stocks said. “We want to connect and deliver our products in the European region to support a growing demand.”

The company has partnered with IQ Allied American Industries Ltd., London, a leader in promoting and distributing architectural and interior surface products. The key focus for 2016 will be to introduce and build market for Smith & Fong’s Plyboo Reveal, Sound, Linear and palm wall systems collections. The collections currently comprise as many as 40 different designs, stains and finishes.

New Sound Line for 2016

“The new Plyboo Sound line for 2016 is modern, organic and can meet some of the most stringent sound abatement standards in the industry,” Angie Haynes, Vice President of Sales for IQ, commented. “This is an intriguing combination for a sound control panel system, and we are very excited to be offering this to the European marketplace.”

The Reveal Collection contains richly carved paneling, some evoking a tribal-meets-modern motif. The Sound Collection offers aesthetics with noise reduction unequalled in the hard-surface environment. The Linear Collection is made up of designs ranging from a fresh, contemporary feel to the look of hand-woven textiles. All three collections are available in traditional amber and natural and a wide range of stain colors and finish options.

The Palm Collection under the Durapalm brand includes PalmWoven, a traditional woven motif and DecoPalm, a contemporary blocked, linear pattern.
