STAMFORD, CONN.—In celebration of the brand’s sixth anniversary of Breathe Westin, Westin Hotels & Resorts announced that The Westin Paris—Vendôme is the latest addition to its growing global portfolio of smoke-free hotels. In January 2006, Westin became the first major hotel chain to introduce a brand-wide smoke-free policy across all its North America properties.

The Westin Paris—Vendôme, which boasts impressive views of the Eiffel Tower and Louvre Museum, joins a host of international properties that have gone smoke free since the brand first introduced Breathe Westin six years ago. Westin continues to explore opportunities to introduce Breathe into new global markets and regions, most recently expanding into Mexico, Peru, Spain and Italy. The response from Westin guests, including many smokers, has been overwhelmingly positive. Customer research shows that 92 percent of guests prefer smoke-free rooms and 80 percent of consumers prefer public spaces that are also free of cigarette smoke.

“Westin Hotels & Resorts is excited to further expand its portfolio of international smoke-free properties and we are proud to have The Westin Paris—Vendôme as our latest addition,” said Brian Povinelli, global brand leader, Westin Hotels & Resorts. “As a brand that continuously adapts its programming to better coincide with guest preferences, Westin’s smoke-free policy responds to consumer demand for healthy environments, and speaks to the brand’s promise of ensuring guests leave feeling better than when they arrived.”

Breathe Westin is one of several signature wellness initiatives that the brand has introduced over the past several years. In 2011, Westin unveiled its “For a Better You” marketing campaign that uses artistic imagery to depict the elements of well-being that help Westin guests leave feeling better than when they arrived.
