PARSIPPANY, N.J.—Wyndham Worldwide, one of the world’s largest hospitality companies, received U.S. Veterans Magazine’s 2014 Best of the Best Award for its supplier diversity program and commitment to supporting veteran-owned businesses. This is the first time the company received the award.

“Supporting veterans is an integral part of the culture and an aspect of what has made Wyndham Worldwide a successful company,” said Jose Nido, Vice President of Global Supplier Diversity, Wyndham Worldwide. “We appreciate the tremendous value veteran-owned businesses, as well as veterans, bring to our team. Cultivating and expanding diversity throughout the company, including our supply partners, is one of our core values.”

Wyndham Worldwide actively recruits veterans to join its global workforce, offers a dedicated vacation club for active and retired military and is committed to doing business with veteran-owned suppliers. And, once a member of the team, the company offers Impacting Veteran Opportunities at Wyndham Worldwide, or I-VOW, an associate business group dedicated to professional development and the sharing of ideas and experiences for veterans in the workplace.

Wyndham Worldwide’s formal supplier diversity initiative was launched in 2008, with a mission to develop and implement an approach to supplier diversity which becomes self-reinforcing and part of its daily culture, ultimately achieving results that add value by reducing costs, improving quality and/or increasing revenue through the identification and use of high-caliber certified diverse suppliers, wherever appropriate. The company’s all-inclusive supplier diversity initiative offers certified minority, veteran-owned, women-owned and other diverse groups the opportunity to seek potential business prospects.
